Ten Steps to Planning a
Successful International Weekend Party
By Cassandra Ingraham
1. Choose your destination, Nassau, Cabo,
Acapulco, Jamaica, at least 12 months in advance.
2. Find and book a beach front villa for one
week. (It may be a good idea to find a villa that comes with a cook and a maid) 3. Send out your invitations for your
IP (International Party) Do this at least 6 months prior to your party date.
(Request RSVPs) 4. Tell guest to book airfare ASAP for the cheapest
airfares. Also remind your
guest to update their travel documents. 5.
Send out your reminder invitation 3 months prior to your party date.
Explain that you need final confirmations. 6.
Obtain information on your selected destination; what to see, where to go,
weather, currency exchange and other important information including shopping
tips. Put all your information on the week-end itinerary and mail to your
guest. 7. Plan your menu for meals and
snacks that you will provide during the week-end.
8. Plan your music and entertainment. Be sure
the villa comes with electronic equipment to play music and videos.
9. Send out the itinerary; explain the configuration of
the villa, bedrooms, baths, who was the last to RSVP and who will get the sofa
bed or the air mattress in the family room. 10.
Arrive at the villa 2 to 3 days early. Spoil yourself before the guest
arrive. Once the guest arrive, enjoy yourself. Your IP
(International Party) will be the talk of your friends for years to come.
