Hotel Choices
The Westin Denarau Island Resort & Spa in Fiji opened
April 1st. This is the first resort in the South Pacific to carry Starwood
Hotels & Resorts upscale brand of Westin. The Westin, formerly known as
the Sheraton royal Cenarau Resort, has undergone a $15 million face lift with
the resort's 271 guest rooms, suites, swimming pool and arrival area completely
redone. Included in the makeover is the new Heavenly spa. As the
largest spa in Fiji, it offers a true five star spa experience. The
extensive renovations have taken the resort to a new level, and it is now
considered one of the most upscale resorts on mainland Fiji.
The Westin is spread over 30 acres of prime beachfront
land on Denarau Island and connected to the mainland of Fiji by a causeway.
It is only 20 minutes from Nadi International Airport and three minutes from
Port Denarau Marina, situated next to Sheraton Fiji Resort and Sheraton Denarau

Matangi Private Island Resort, a 240 acre private island
located in the northern region of Fiji, is planning the addition of a stunning
new pool and restaurant complex. This investment will add to the already
luxurious resort, which offers 11 oceanfront bures and three unique tree house
bures. Mantangi Island Resort is a 90 minute scenic flight north of Nadi
to the sister island of Taveuni. Clients are water taxied to the secluded
island.
Also scheduled to open in 2006 is Taunovo Bay, located
in the pacific Harbour on the main island of Viti Levu. This property will
have 125 rooms and will provide beautiful views of the privately owned estates
beach.

on Denarau and has a planned opening for 2008.
