8 DAYS
| Day
1: Upon arrival at Ben Gurion International
Airport, you will be met, assisted and transferred to
your hotel in Tel Aviv for dinner and overnight.
Day
2: Driving
along the Mediterranean coast to the ruins of the
ancient Roman capital - Caesarea, built by
Herod The Great in 22 B.C. Visit the Roman
theatre, Aqueduct and fortress. Continue to Haifa
for a panoramic view of the city and proceed to Mt.
Carmel to visit the Carmelite Monastery built on
the site where Elijah triumphed over the priests of
Baal. Drive
via the Valley of Armageddon to the excavation
of Tel Megiddo. Proceed to Nazareth
to visit the Church of The Annunciation and Mary's
Well. Drive via Cana of Galilee to your
hotel in Tiberias for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Take a boat ride on the Sea of
Galilee, then visit the Mt of Beatitudes,
site of the Sermon on the Mount, and Tabgha,
site of the Miracle of the Loaves and Fishes.
Proceed to Capernaum and cross the River Jordan
to visit Caesarea Phillipi and the Golan
Heights. Return to Tiberias. In the
evening we will enjoy the multimedia presentation
"The Galilee experience", dinner and
overnight.
Day 4: Start the day with a visit to Yardenit,
the Baptismal Center on the River Jordan. Drive
to Beit Shean and see the ancient amphitheatre.
Continue along the Jordan River Valley, from a
distance we will see Jericho the oldest city on
earth. proceed via the Judean desert to the Holy
City, Jerusalem. Check into your hotel:
dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Drive to Mount of
Olives for a panoramic view of Jerusalem and the
surrounding area. Proceed to the Church of
Ascension and the Garden of Gethsemane.
See the Kidron Valley and the tombs of Absalom,
Zachariah and James. On to visit the Old City,
the Pool of Bethesda and the Church of St.
Anne, then walk the Via Dolorosa, beginning
at Pilate's Judgment Hall and ending at the church of
the Holy Sepulcher. In the afternoon we visit
the Church of St. Peter in Galicantu and Mt.
Zion; here you will visit the Room of The
Last Supper.
We will end the tour with a visit to the Garden Tomb.
Dinner and overnight.

Day 6
This morning we
visit the the Western Wall, then
we
will continue to the Rabbinical tunnels that were
recently excavated along the Temple walls. We view the Temple
Mount and the Dome of The Rock. Next is a
visit to the scale model of Jerusalem at the times of the
Second Temple, on to the Shrine of The Book at the
Israel Museum, to see the Dead Sea Scrolls.
Continue to Yad Vashem, The Holocaust Museum and
Memorial. On to the village of Ein Karem the site
of the Visitation and the birth place of John the Baptist.
Conditions permitting, we will drive to nearby Bethlehem
and visit the Church of the Nativity. View the Shepherds
Field. Return to Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
Day 7
Your route today takes you to
the shores of the Dead Sea - the lowest point of earth.
Drive south to Massada. Ascend by cable car to
the top of the mountain to marvel at Herod's fortress - visit
the synagogue, storehouses and more. Enjoy a short swim
in the Dead Sea. Drive to Qumran, where the Dead
Sea scrolls were discovered. Return to your hotel in
Jerusalem for dinner and overnight.
Day 8 Transfer to
Ben Gurion International Airport for your departure back to
the US or continue on to the Egypt Extension.
